For me it was … 8 games … 14 teams … thousands of amazing fans … a lifetime of memories … and the ability and opportunity to share, with many of the naysayers, the positivity, joy, humanity and love that I always knew existed within our people. This has been a great opportunity to show the world who we are – now we need to continue to show each other what we are capable of !!

@Nicci I think times such as this trigger off a positive energy between people and we are all individually responsible for continuing to project the love and acceptance. This collective conscious (or mob mentality) around xenophobia is a huge worry and let’s hope the hate doesn’t prevail…

I can only agree with everything you said. I had many a heated argument with the naysayers before the world cup started all of whom strangely has not had anything bad to say since the start of the world cup.

I am hopeful that we will continue to stand united as a nation and continue on this path of acceptance we find ourselves on.
