Am I turning into Bushguy?
I was staring at the ocean, camera at the ready for the humpback whale that was scripted in my mind to hurl itself out of the water for photographic capture, when I turned and saw this…
What is that? Who is it?
Oh, it’s me. Duhness. This is what living the holiday at The Bush Palace does to you. You come over all green. And leafy. And twiggy. I think that I might be turning into The Bushguy.

Just want to say great site. I’m the one responsible for the Bangladeshi stats on your blog… as you know, since you tracked me down. I’m a Saffa, who is currently volunteering in Bangladesh, after 10 years in London. I’m planning to move back home to SA (after saving the 3rd world…) and love reading any SA positive news, instead of the usual fear inducing, quick-buy-a-gun stories typically bandied about. So thanks for keeping it positive!

@ Estelle No, thank you! So cool to think my ramblings are being enjoyed in Bangladesh! What voluntary work have you been doing there? Glad you’re coming back and bringing your experience and skills with you… big thanks for such encouraging words!

I’m working as a management advisor for a local NGO, through an organisation called VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas, who also place volunteers in SA). I’m really, really looking forward to moving home, and doing it after a year in Bangladesh makes perfect sense. SA will seem like an amazingly well run, highly efficient, un-corrupt (honest?) country after this experience…!
